John 4:5-42 tells the story of Jesus’s encounter with the Samaratan woman at the well. There are many lessons within this one parable. But one that surfaces is the reality that our hunger and thirst throughout life is satisfied completely by God alone. Jesus is true bread. Jesus is true drink. He is the drink that satisfies and will allow us to never thirst again. Jesus says, “Everyone who drinks of this water (from the well) will be thirsty again, but those who drink of the water that I will give them will never be thirsty. The water that I will give will become in them a spring of water gushing up to eternal life.”
