Fifteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Matthew 13:1-9

Today’s gospel is the parable of the Sower and the Seed. Some seed fell on the path, some on rocky ground. Some fell among the thorns and some fell on good soil. Those that fell on good soil yeilded grain of various quantities, Where have the seeds fallen in your life? I am sure we are all a mix of produce. In some periods of our lives, the seed was quickly killed. In other periods, we have produced some quantity of grain. Where are you today?

Are you productive? Does your heart contain good soil to allow the seed to grow? Let us ask the Lord to show us how to produce great quantities of grain for Him today.

Mission

We could find no better way to describe the purpose of Daily Beatitude than the Prologue of the Catechism of the Catholic Church, Paragraph 1:

God, infinitely perfect and blessed in himself, in a plan of sheer goodness freely created man to make him share in his own blessed life. For this reason, at every time and in every place, God draws close to man. He calls man to seek him, to know him, to love him with all his strength. He calls together all men, scattered and divided by sin, into the unity of his family, the Church. To accomplish this, when the fullness of time had come, God sent his Son as Redeemer and Savior. In his Son and through him, he invites men to become, in the Holy Spirit, his adopted children and thus heirs of his blessed life.

We are called to live in beatitude. This contemplation is one designed to help us incorporate the beatitudes into our day. This work is not one of absolutes. It is just one way to incorporate the countenance of Jesus into each day. It is not the only way. View our rationale.
