I Believe in the Communion of Saints
St. DymphnaIn Volume Five, Jesus the Redeemer, we hear from St. Dymphna. “You are never asked to carry crosses alone, little brothers and sisters. That would be asking too much and I must tell you that the reason we became saints is that we were experts at letting Jesus carry our earthly crosses. In this way we could do heroic things because we did not try to do them ourselves. We simply turned them over to Jesus and cheerfully, (at times cheerfully, bur I must say that I was not always cheerful), resumed our earthly walk. Now this requires trust because only if you trust in the complete and total goodness of Jesus can you walk confidently while carrying a great cross. So you must learn to trust. I will help you. I will be the saint of trusting Jesus with heavy crosses during this time. When all looks grim and you are frightened, you must come to me and say, ‘Dymphna, get me more trust, quickly.’ I will begin working in heaven immediately. Jesus will not turn away from a request from a soul who is looking for greater trust in Him. In this then we will work on the cross itself.”
