Third Sunday of Advent
Luke 3:10-18Today’s gospel reading highlights the humility of Jesus. He is teaching widely and people are changing because of Him. Tax Collectors and Soldiers are coming to Him for specific direction. And the people, wondering at this powerful teaching, go to John the Baptist. John, once again, directs their attention to the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit. Never once do we hear of Jesus redirecting them to Himself. Nor do we hear of Jesus chastising others for their lack of faith in Him.
Lord Jesus, teach us to be humble.
St. John the Baptist, pray for us.
