Jesus was gentle with the woman caught in adultery. May we imitate His gentleness in dealing with others.

Gentleness

Mark 8:14-21

In today’s gospel reading we encounter the gentleness of Jesus. Sometimes it is hard to fathom His virtues because we attribute to Him, our own deficiences. When the apostles miss the whole point of His teaching, Jesus gently corrects them with the words, “Do you still not understand?”
May we imitate Jesus in dealing with those who miss the point of what we are saying. May we be gentle in our comments.

We could find no better way to describe the purpose of Daily Beatitude than the Prologue of the Catechism of the Catholic Church, Paragraph 1:

God, infinitely perfect and blessed in himself, in a plan of sheer goodness freely created man to make him share in his own blessed life. For this reason, at every time and in every place, God draws close to man. He calls man to seek him, to know him, to love him with all his strength. He calls together all men, scattered and divided by sin, into the unity of his family, the Church. To accomplish this, when the fullness of time had come, God sent his Son as Redeemer and Savior. In his Son and through him, he invites men to become, in the Holy Spirit, his adopted children and thus heirs of his blessed life.

We are called to live in beatitude. This contemplation is one designed to help us incorporate the beatitudes into our day. This work is not one of absolutes. It is just one way to incorporate the countenance of Jesus into each day. It is not the only way. View our rationale.
