Thirtieth Sunday in Ordinary Time
Luke 18:9-14Today’s gospel highlights the sin of pride. tI is so easy to fall into this sin, even when we think we are not, maybe then, more so.
”Two people went up to the temple area to pray; one was a Pharisee and the other was a tax collector.” In this story, the pharisee exalts all his virtues. The tax collector humbles himself, speaking of himself as a sinner.
May we daily humble ourselves before God repeating the Jesus Prayer: “Jesus, Son of the living God, have mercy on me, a sinner.”
