The Sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time
Matthew 5: 17-37Today's gospel reading has several teachings we are to follow. One of them concerns our propensity to anger. Jesus equates this to murder. It is a harsh thought that we have all been angry at one time or another. Our words spoken in anger can harm people so much as to "kill" their spirit. Let us try to remember this the next time we are tempted in anger to say something mean. Let us try to take one moment to ask the Holy Spirit to give us words to say that He would want us to say.
Jesus, have mercy on me, a sinner.
