Fifth Sunday of Easter
John 14:1-12Today's gospel is one of comfort. Jesus comforts the apostles with the fact that He will prepare a place for them. He assures them not to worry, "Do not be troubled." We also witness the dialogue of Thomas and Philip trying to understand all Jesus is telling them. Jesus patiently speaks to them, explaining more and comforting throughout the conversation. In the process, Jesus also reveals the Father. There is an intimate and beautiful vision of the Father given by Jesus that should assure the apostles (and us) of the loving Father that God is.
May we enjoy the gospel passage today and rest in God's love for us.
