Blessed Are They Who Hunger and Thirst for Righteousness

For they shall be satisfied

Amos 9:11-15
"On that day I will raise up/ the fallen hut of David;/ I will wall up its breaches,/ raise up its ruins,/ and rebuild it as in the days of old,/
That they may possess the remnant of Edom,/ and all nations claimed in my name—/ oracle of the Lord, the one who does this./
Yes, days are coming—/ oracle of the Lord—/ When the one who plows shall overtake the one who reaps/ and the vintager, the sower of the seed;/ The mountains shall drip with the juice of grapes,/ and all the hills shall run with it./
I will restore my people Israel,/ they shall rebuild and inhabit their ruined cities,/ Plant vineyards and drink the wine,/ set out gardens and eat the fruits./
I will plant them upon their own ground;/ never again shall they be plucked/From the land I have given them—/ the Lord, your God, has spoken."

About Us

Mission

We could find no better way to describe the purpose of Daily Beatitude than the Prologue of the Catechism of the Catholic Church, Paragraph 1:

God, infinitely perfect and blessed in himself, in a plan of sheer goodness freely created man to make him share in his own blessed life. For this reason, at every time and in every place, God draws close to man. He calls man to seek him, to know him, to love him with all his strength. He calls together all men, scattered and divided by sin, into the unity of his family, the Church. To accomplish this, when the fullness of time had come, God sent his Son as Redeemer and Savior. In his Son and through him, he invites men to become, in the Holy Spirit, his adopted children and thus heirs of his blessed life.

Content

We are called to live in beatitude. This contemplation is one designed to help us incorporate the beatitudes into our day. This work is not one of absolutes. It is just one way to incorporate the countenance of Jesus into each day. It is not the only way. View our rationale.

Each day a different beatitude is presented with several points of focus that provide meditation. An additional reading is included daily related to the beatitude or one of the points of focus. All readings are archived for your convenience.
