Thrid Sunday of Advent
John 1:6-8"A man named John was sent from God. He came for testimony, to testify to the light, so that all might believe through him. He was not the light, but came to testify to the light."
In today's gospel the focus is St. John the Baptist. But the humility of John shines through the focus. He comes to testify to the LIGHT, not to himself, but to Jesus. True humility is truth. And the truth is that Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life, not John the Baptist. John not only points to Jesus, but he actually does as he taught: Jesus must increase and I must decrease.
Today, find a way for others to see Jesus in you. Perhaps it will be a smile and a specific kindness. Whatever it is, decrease, so that Jesus will increase in our world.
