Second Sunday of Lent
Mark 9:2-10Today's gospel in the account of the Transfiguration. Jesus is transfigured before the eyes of Peter, James, and John. His glory is manifested to them in a way no one else sees. They also witness Moses and Elijah speaking with Jesus.
This revelation was not only a great privilege for the three apostles. It was a burden. What did this mean? What were they witnessing? What should they do with this privilege?
Again, Jesus helps. He instructs them to tell no one what they saw. Like Mary, they are left to ponder this in their hearts. They are given time to witness more of Who Jesus is and What His ministry is before they must process this important event.
