Fourth Sunday of Lent
John 3:14-21Today St. John speaks about Jesus as the "light." It is one of the most common themes of St. John. When we contemplate this idea, the last three verses of the gospel make so much sense for people who do not follow Jesus. it says:
"And this is the verdict, that the light came into the world, but people preferred darkness to light, because their works were evil. For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come toward the light, so that his works might not be exposed. But whoever lives the truth comes to the light, so that his works may be clearly seen as done in God."
Take a moment to think about your actions from today. Were they done in light or darkness? Was there anything you did today that you preferred no one to see? Ask the Holy Spirit to guide your contemplation. Ask forgiveness if necessary.
