Eleventh Sunday in Ordinary Time
Mark 4:26-34In today's gospel, Jesus speaks of the Kingdom of God being like a mustard seed, very small. "But once it is sown, it springs up and becomes the largest of plants and puts forth large branches, so that the birds of the sky can dwell in its shade."
There are many comparisons and analogies that equate to this parable. But just a simple thought to ponder is the about the beginning of the church. Jesus left twelve apostles. They were ordinary men. And yet they evangelized as they had been shown. And the Church grew and the faith spread and the name of Jesus has never been blotted out. A mustard seed.
Praise God!
