Thirty Second Sunday in Ordinary Time
Today's gospel has two mesages. The second message deals with the widow contributing all she had to the Temple. We know this message. We should give what we can. God will reward our generosity.
But the first message speaks about the scribes seeking places of honor. Are we not also like the scribes? Do we not seek to be recognized, noticed, applauded?
May God have mercy on us. May we seek to humble ourselves before we fall into sin. May we recognize our true value as children of God and helpers of our neighbors.
